Lanolin is an hydrophobic emollient which means it helps reduce the loss of moisture by formig a barrier sealing in water. Lanolin  creates a replacement barrier by filling in cracks in the skin's utermost layer creating a smoother surface and skin flexibility.
This butter melts on contact with the skin and has no additional scent added other than Lavender & Calendula.
